AHA-97 Basic Pharmacology

In this course, students will be introduced to major concepts in pharmacology and drug therapies, including drug actions and reactions in the human body. Students will be able to recognize five major drug classes and explain the most common uses for those drug classes.

Outcomes

1. Communicate pertinent pharmacological information for and to others
2. Examine/explore his or her own values surrounding medication usage and reinforce his or her understanding of the human body structure & function.
3. Increase awareness of values surrounding medication usage in ours & other cultures
4. List changes in a person's body with the use of pharmacologic agents
5. State how an enhanced understanding of the principles of pharmacology can be applied to both personal and possible future settings.
