CYBR 104 IT Systems I

Provides a foundation in hardware, software, basic networking, safety, and customer service skills. Acquire the essential skills and information to install, configure, optimize, troubleshoot and repair, upgrade and perform preventive maintenance of computers, digital devices, and operating systems. This is the first course in a series of two to prepare for the CompTIA A+ certification. 1. Compare and contrast network architecture devices and their functions and features as used in the industry
2. Demonstrate installation, configuration and maintenance of computers applying software and peripheral device as deployed in the industry
3. Demonstrate troubleshooting common problems related to computer assembly while collaborating with a diverse peer group
4. Identify motherboard components, RAM types, expansion cards, storage devices, CPUs, and ports and interfaces as they apply to personal computers and mobile devices by preparing and presenting a research project
5. Identify network cables and their connectors, and explain properties and characteristics of TCP/IP in the lab/classroom environment
6. Identify tools and supplies for assembly/disassembly of computers and troubleshooting theory in a culturally relevant manner as a professional in the lab/classroom environment
