HSCHI 087 HS Completion: US Civics
This course will focus upon the study of government and citizenship in the United States. This analysis will focus upon issues at the national level, though state and local concerns will also be covered. There will be a significant amount of time spent on the U.S. Constitution. The class format will be in person or online. In addition to class activities, students will need to complete coursework and take exams. We will cover the following topics during the course: Introduction: Defining Civics/Political Science: Balancing Liberty and Security & Harmonizing the Preservation of the Status Quo and the Push for Transformation; The United States Constitution & Supreme Court; and Federal Law, Policy Creation, & Elections
