ELCON 101 Introduction to Electrical Construction

This course is an introduction to Electrical Construction, with a strong emphasis on occupationally specific safety guidelines and standards. Students will learn to apply safety principles, complete safety checklists, and adhere to OSHA/WISHA and NFPA 70E guidelines. The course also prepares students for the physical demands of the job, including physical strength, stamina, and agility, while highlighting the role of an electrician in diverse job sites and teaching them to identify and address hazardous conditions.

This course must be taken the first quarter of the program and must be taken in conjunction with ELCON 102, ELCON 103 and ELCON 104.
