Media Production and Communications Certificate of Competency (66 Credits)

The Media Production and Communications (MPC) Certificate of Competency (CoC) is a 4-quarter certificate program that provides students with an overview of video production, broadcast engineering, and digital media. The last of these quarters is during summer focused on safety principles, employment preparation, and at least two elective classes for career exploration. After completing the MPC CoC, students can elect to continue for two additional quarters of advanced MPC classes and earn an associate degree.

- Students use video studio facilities, portable video cameras/accessories, maintenance shop tools & test equipment, and editing software.
- Many employers require drug tests, and background checks.
Outcomes
Select and effectively use video and audio technology and field production equipment to produce deliverables that meet industry standards.
Install, set up, maintain, and operate audio/video and broadcast equipment.
