This course introduces the student to the theory and practice of fabricating individual metal crowns. The student will learn the steps involved in fabricating gold inlays, onlays, & crowns.

  2. Describe and draw parallelism on preps for crowns and bridges
  3. Describe the principles and methods of preventing disease transmission and cross contamination during the fabrication of a metal prosthesis
  4. Distinguish between a good or bad impression
  5. Follow the procedures for waxing, spruing, investing, burnout, casting, finishing & polishing
  6. Identify different prep forms
  7. Identify various margin preps, their advantages, disadvantages and the types of restoration that require them
  8. Trim margins & mark dies
