PSAD 410 Critical Infrastructure: Security and Resilience

Provides the learner with an overview and understanding of what constitutes the critical infrastructure that supports the essential health and safety of a community. Topics include enhancing critical infrastructure resilience; critical infrastructure partners across numerous sectors (i.e., food, finance, information and communication technology, energy and utilities, etc.); and new threat vectors (e.g., drones, cyberwarfare).

  1. Students will analyze and discuss threats and hazards to determine their potential impacts on infrastructure and how likely they are to occur.
  2. Students will understand that a strong critical infrastructure security and resilience program is based on collaboration and information sharing.
  3. Students will develop a risk management plan to reduce the threat risks of their community.
  4. Students will examine vulnerabilities of critical infrastructure from natural disasters, terrorist threats, cyber-attacks, and system failures.
